The Interview

Eun-Ho is surprised to see Dan-Yi who is there for the interview. After the interview, he chases after her letting someone else fill his position. He drives her to “her house”, he also calls her husband but is not able to get through to him. When he reaches her home he sees the construction notice, his anger starts rising. He finally believes that Dan-Yi has divorced her husband. In a flashback, we see Eun-Ho meeting Dan-Yi’s future ex-husband for the first time and not liking him. Back to the present Dan-Yi tells him that she really need the job and earn some money to get out of the mess she is in. He tells her that the job she applied for is a very low-level job and she needs something better with her past achievements. Dan-Yi tells him that she tried her best but is unable to get any job. Eun-Ho feels sorry for not knowing about her situation until now. Eun-Ho is called out for the interview in regards to his new book and Don-Yi goest to her part-time job.

The New Job

During his interview, he talks about the dramatic meeting with Jae-Min (his boss) for the first time and him becoming the editor of his present publishing company at a young age. We get to see more flashbacks regarding Eun-Ho at his new job. The flashbacks are themed on Chow Yun-fat and A better tomorrow. Eun-Ho leaves the interview (after making an excuse) when he is asked about the writer Kang Byung-Jun (no idea who he/she is) and his/her retirement and disappearance. Dan-Yi is accepted at the publishing company without Eun-Ho’s help. Jae-Min calls all the successful applicant in hope to enjoy their reaction after they hear the good news. But his expectations are ruined when all the applicants react in a way he was not expecting. Dan-Yi is over the moon when she hears the news of her acceptance. She and her colleagues from her part-time job start screaming and jumping in joy.

The Stranger in The House

Dan-Yi who is living in Eun-Ho’s home (in the attic) gives him the news of her new job. Eun-Ho tells her to act as strangers when they are at work. Next day, Dan-Yi meets the other recruit, she has a hard time understanding him because of all the slangs (abbreviations) he is using. The new recruits start talking negatively about Hae-Rin in front of her. They don’t realize that she is Hae-Rin, she shocks them after she reveals her identity. She then further destroys chews them out with her words and pure charisma. Sae-Rin further introduces them to the other staff and their respective teams. Mama girl Ji-Yool makes the atmosphere around her really cold after she receives congratulatory flowers from her mother. Later after work, Eun-Ho sees Dan-Yi in his neighborhood and asks if she lives nearby and offers her a lift to “her” home. She makes an excuse, Eun-Ho receives a call from his ex-girlfriend and both of them goes to her clothing shop.

The Past Memories

Eun-Ho and his ex-girlfriend are still friends even after she cheated on him. Eun-Ho advice her to get some new clothes for work, she tries few of them on but Eun-Ho doesn’t even look at her. Dan-Yi thinks she is getting the clothes for free but Eun-Ho is paying for all of them discreetly. Later we see that Eun-Ho was glancing secretly at Dan-Yi when she was trying her clothes earlier even though he was acting otherwise. In a flashback, we see the first meeting of Eun-Ho and Dan-Yi as children. Dan-Yi saves Eun-Ho from a car but gets hurt herself in the process. Eun-Ho in return of saving him becomes Dan-Yi’s errand boy for a whole year. The errand boy situation helped him become the writer he is today. Dan-Yi is caught by Eun-Ho at his house when she is secretly trying to eat food late at night.

Thoughts

Romance is a Bonus Book Episode 2 Recap

Another alright episode nothing much special. We do get some more of the back story and gets introduced to the new characters. The pace of the show seems to be slow I hope it picks up in the upcoming episodes. No signs of any romance yet although Eun-Ho seems to be carrying a torch for Dan-Yi. Nothing much to say to be honest as nothing happened. But all in all, I am still enjoying and going to stick with the series for at least a few more episode before I make my final decision about the drama.
