Lee Jae-Sang (Rain) is a lawyer at JK Law Firm, which is one of the biggest law firms in South Korea. He is an excellent lawyer, but he only cares about winning for his benefit. One day, he has a mysterious car accident and he is drawn into a parallel world. There, Lee Jae-Sang finds himself working as a prosecutor. He is strict in carrying out the law. He is married to Ra Shi-On (Lim Ji-Yeon), who loves Lee Jae-Sang and is faithful to him. In the world where Lee Jae-Sang came from, he broke up with Ra Shi-On ten years earlier and Ra Shi-On works as a detective. Lee Jae-Sang struggles to cope with his different selves. (asianwiki)

Violent Ex-Girlfriend

Lee Jae-Sang (Rain) is waiting for Shi-On and when she arrives he congratulates her on their 2 year anniversary. But instead of enjoying she starts a fight with her. Both of them ends up breaking with each other even though Jae-Sang didn’t want that. A couple of years later Shi-On and her team catch a “chaebol” who is accused of sexual harassment and violent assault. The accused of is represented by Jae-Sang and the firm he works for. In the court, Jae-Sang using his dirty tactics is able to save his client. Outside of the court, Shi-On attacks Jae-Sang and physically injures him knowing fully that he won’t sue her. Next day, Jae-Sang is asked to take on another case related to the earlier Chaebol family. Elsewhere, Shi-On is temporary put on traffic duty because of her actions. She runs into Jae-Sang and they again get into another argument. She reminds him of how they met and that he was in the same situation as the victim of the assault.

Scorned Woman Is Dangerous

Next day, Jae-Sang is made partner of his firm and is also promoted to co-CEO position. Elsewhere, the father of a girl who works as a secretary (for the chairman of above mentioned Chaebol family) goes to the police to report her abduction. At the scene, he found a badge with letters “SMH” which points towards her boss’s name. Shi-On gets suspicious and starts investigating, the lady of the family gets angry and contacts Jae-Sang. When Shi-On arrives at the corporation’s office Jae-Sang tells her that the chairman is out of the country and that she needs to bring a warrant if she wants to investigate further. Outside the company, both Jae-Sang and Shi-On get into another argument. During their confrontation, Shi-On realizes that SMH is also an abbreviation for a security company that works for the chaebol family. Jae-Sang also gets suspicious of the “lady of the house” and the ex-lovers chase down the secretary who works for the chairwoman.

Good People Die First

 

When the secretary is pressured by Jae-Sang she reveals the location of a warehouse. When Jae-Sang and Shi-On reach there they are already too late as they found the dead body of the missing girl in a container. Next day, Jae-Sang’s boss takes care of the case and makes Shi-On a crazy person. Jae-Sang not feeling good about the situation and death of the girl gets emotional and goes to meet the chairwoman. There he ridicules her and makes her angry, on his way back his car gets into an accident while he is on phone with Shi-On. Thinking he has died he wakes up in a bedroom while wearing cute pajamas and sees Shi-On in the bedroom as well.  To his further surprise, not only is he living with Shi-On but they are married and also have a little daughter as well. He thinks he is in a nightmare, he goes to his law firm and he founds out that he doesn’t work there. Surprises don’t stop there as he is told that he is a prosecutor and not a lawyer.

Nightmare Continues

Furthermore, it is revealed that he is working on the case of the missing girl whom he found dead before his accident. He takes this chance to take revenge on the chairwoman who may be responsible for his accident and the death of the girl from the “other universe” (not revealed yet). He tells the police to check the same warehouse he found the girl dead in the other universe. But when they reach them they find nothing. Jae-Sang then gets scolded by his new boss but Jae-Sang retaliates thinking he has nothing to lose. Later, because of his knowledge from the other universe and DNA evidence found from the warehouse. He is able to arrest the chairwoman for another crime. Shi-On is worried about the change in Jae-Sang’s behavior but he promises to her that he will save the girl “this” time. Which makes Shi-On happy instead of using violence (unlike the other one). Jae-Sang continues his investigation and rightly suspects that the one having an affair with the chairman is not the missing girl.

Dream On

But it is the secretary of the chairwoman, the same one who revealed the location of the warehouse in the OU (Other Universe). He then interrogates her and she acknowledges that she is the one who is having an affair with the chairman. Then under Jae-Sang’s instructions, she calls the head of security who has abducted the girl. The police are able to trace the call and locate the location where the girl is held. Jae-Sang and Shi-On with others reach the location, they are attacked by the minions. Even though the danger, Jae-Sang is able to save the girl before she is shot. At the hospital both the girl and her father thanks Jae-Sang for saving her. Jae-Sang remembering the other reality gets on his knees and tears apologizes to both of them. Later, he goes to sleep thinking this “dream” will be over when he wakes up. But next morning he is welcomed by the trademark fart of his young daughter.
